First Franklin News
Anyone up for a Sunday afternoon walk? Or a walk that combines reflection with a light exercise? Please consider joining us at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 29th for a light stroll on the Lake Roland Trail. We will stop at art exhibits that have been placed on the trail for conversation and reflection. We will gather at 3 p.m. at the Falls Road Light Rail Station (parking is plentiful). The walk will last for about two hours. For more information, reach out to Pastor Rob at email@example.com.
Join us before or after service on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017 to continue weeding and trimming up the garden beds and courtyard area in preparation for winter. Bring your gardening gloves (and any clippers or trimmers) and we will have trash bags available. Let's give our beautiful campus a little fall TLC.
Rev. Hoch will lead the Adult Forum with the study of the Gospel of Mark. Sundays beginning at 9:30 A.M. Backus House.
Mark's story of Jesus is dated as the earliest of the gospels. It is characteristically rough, direct, sometimes messy, but engaging throughout. Interested in the beginnings of the Jesus story? Mark's a lively place to start!
There are four levels of support PLUS we welcome additional donations toward the support of The Spire Series programming. A subscription makes a great gift, too. We welcome corporate and business sponsorships!
THE 2017 COVENANT CONFERENCE
November 8, 9, and 10, 2017
First & Franklin Presbyterian Church will be hosting the Covenant Network’s “Our Shared Humanity,” This conference will illuminate and confront the ongoing exclusion encountered by LGBTQ people, people of color and others in the life of church and society. It will name the privilege in our midst and seek to harness it as a force to seek justice and practice radical hospitality. And it will seek to “make manifest Christ’s work of reconciliation” among believers, in congregations and councils and in all the world. Please consider serving as a host for a shift on November 8th, November 9 and/or November 10. Morning, afternoon, and evening shifts available. Please call 410-728-5545 or email the office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
