Artist Discussion with Dorothy Masom
HOW DOES SHE DO IT?
Artist's Discussion and Reception
We have all been enjoying the current exhibit on display in Reid Chapel by Dorothy Masom, an encaustic art painter. She is considered one of America’s most distinguished contemporary artists and is a true pioneer in the revival of encaustic painting. Encaustic painting is a process of painting with pigmented melted waxes first developed by the Egyptians.
Join us after worship on Sunday, January 27, 2019, in Reid Chapel to hear directly from Dorothy about the history and methods of encaustic painting, her process and a discussion about the paintings on display. She loves to answer questions about her work and we look forward to seeing you there! Goodies and drinks will be plentiful, too!
