New Members Classes-Jan., 2018
If you’re new to First & Franklin Presbyterian Church, or if you’ve been here for a long time but never taken the “plunge” of membership, please consider joining this month-long course in what it means to join a faith community as a member. It’s more than getting a “membership card” – it is more like saying, in a public way, that, “I am following Christ in this place, with this people, at this hour of my life. I don’t have all the answers, but I trust God is leading me in this way. And I want the world to hear this and to share in the joy of that proclamation. It is like saying, to one and all, this is where, as a sojourner in this world, I have chosen to “pitch” my spiritual tent.” Our New Members class is open to all, including those who have been members for a long time, but would like a refresher. Our meetings will begin at 9:00 a.m. on January 14, 21, and 28th in the Parlor Room of Backus House. We will hear our stories, our hopes and dreams, we will ask questions, and learn what it means to be Presbyterian. We will finish around 10:10 a.m. before gathering for our regular worship hour. Childcare will be provided. Contact Pastor Rob for more information (email@example.com). Our regular Adult Forum on the Gospel of Mark will resume on February 4th 2018.
