Sara Davis Buechner (Educators)

June 4, 2023 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

$5.00 – $25.00

Noted for her musical command, cosmopolitan artistry, and visionary independence, pianist and Baltimore-native Sara Davis Buechner makes a long overdue return to Baltimore. She is one of the most original concert pianists and storytellers of our time. Ms. Buechner, who is a proud transgender woman, will help us kick off Pride Month 2023 with music of Handel, Chopin, Longas, Gershwin, and her own “Canción para dos niñas” along with stories from her career and experiences as a trans classical musician.

Lauded for her “intelligence, integrity and all- encompassing technical prowess” (New York Times), “thoughtful artistry in the full service of music” (Washington Post), and “astounding virtuosity” (Philippine Star), Japan’s InTune magazine sums up: “Buechner has no superior. Ms. Buechner has earned a bouquet of top prizes at the world’s premiere international piano competitions — Queen Elisabeth (Brussels), Leeds, Mozart (Salzburg), Beethoven (Vienna), and Sydney.
