Najee Evans
Director, Children's Christian Arts and Education

Rev. Najee Evans is a Baptist ordained minister, educator, therapist, and community leader whose work is grounded in faith, service, and empowerment. Licensed to preach by the Abyssinian Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey, and ordained by the United Missionary Baptist Convention of New Jersey, Najee has devoted his life to ministry that transforms lives spiritually, emotionally, and socially. Since the summer of 2024, he has served as the Director of Children’s Christian Arts and Education at First and Franklin Presbyterian Church in Baltimore, Maryland, where he is passionate about cultivating meaningful, creative faith-based experiences for children and youth.
In addition to his ministry, Najee serves as a licensed social worker, therapist, and educator in Maryland. As a full-time therapist, he works with both children and adults, supporting individuals with compassion and care. He also has experience as an educator in both higher education and the boarding school community, where he has worked closely with students in areas of leadership development, counseling, student life, and faith formation. Najee is also actively engaged in the broader community through various organizations, associations, and conferences, reflecting his commitment to service beyond the church walls. His ability to bridge ministry, education, and clinical practice allows him to support individuals and communities with cultural awareness, empathy, compassion, authenticity, and purpose.
Najee holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, a Master’s degree in Social Work, a Master’s degree in Biblical Studies and Theology, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership Studies with a concentration in Education. One of the guiding inspirations in his life comes from Edgar Guest’s poem “Sermons We See,” particularly the stanza: “And the lecture you deliver may be very wise and true, But I'd rather get my lessons by observing what you do; For I might misunderstand you and the high advice you give, But there's no misunderstanding how you act and how you live.” This passage reflects Najee’s belief that true leadership and ministry are revealed not only in words but also in the example of one’s life.
